Stay in the loop with what is happening at Marysville First UMC. Below are our upcoming special activities and events.
Regrettably, the March Pancake Breakfast is cancelled due to lack of volunteers to cook, serve and clean. We are still looking for help for the April breakfast and beyond. If your family or group enjoys fellowship over bacon, we ask that you consider signing up to serve one Sunday.
More information and sign ups are located here.
We are organizing a team to go to ECHO in Fort Myers, FL March 12th to 19th. ECHO works to reduce world hunger through equipping people with agricultural skills and resources. You can get more information about ECHO at ECHONet.org. We will serve on the farm as they have need including cleaning, painting, facilities maintenance, basic hands on labor. No particular skills needed, there are opportunities for all to serve. If you are interested, please contact Mark Flick at firstname.lastname@example.org
The Walk to Emmaus is a Christian spiritual renewal and formation experience that provides a three-day short course in Christianity. It is an opportunity to meet Jesus Christ in a new way as God’s grace and love is revealed to you through other believers. It is for new and maturing Christians to deepen their understanding of God’s love and help direct their servant heart as baptized believers. Interested in attending?

The Bluegrass concert is just around the corner with the first concert scheduled for January 11th. With the holidays coming soon, the calendar will turn and the first show will be upon us before we know it. To make the concert series an enjoyable experience for all who attend takes a dedicated crew of volunteers that have a heart for missions. Thankfully, our congregation at Marysville FUMC has demonstrated that commitment for service in years past and we are praying for a similar response for 2019’s concerts. Help is needed in the kitchen and to supply food items, set up and tear down the gymnasium seating, welcome and seat the guests, and be present at various tables for shirts, tickets, and prayer. Please be on the lookout for sign-up sheets to assist in these areas. If your heart calls you to work in the kitchen or to supply food items, please contact Chris Runyan at firstname.lastname@example.org as soon as possible so we can begin planning for the kitchen food and work crew.

Our church will be presenting a children’s musical called “Because He Lives!” on Saturday, April 13, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the church sanctuary. We are seeking kids from 1st through 6th grade to participate in Because He Lives! Please have family members (grandparents especially) and your friends mark their calendars for this date at Marysville First U.M. Church.
There will be narrations that the children will read, some hand motions, and singing! The narrations could be either read on a notecard or memorized by the children. It is a wonderful musical, and it will not be too difficult to learn. I am sure that the audience will love it!
We will have three practices---please mark your calendar and try to have you child attend all THREE!
Also, be sure they have had dinner or a snack prior to arriving.
Practice #1 will be Monday, April 1st from 6 pm to 7:15 pm in Room 220 by Sunday School classrooms.
Practice #2 will be Sunday, April 7th from 6 pm to 7:15 pm in the sanctuary.
Practice #3 will be Wednesday, April 10th from 6 pm to 7:15 pm in the sanctuary. (We realize some of the Outbreak 5th and 6th graders won’t be able to stay the whole time but that’s okay.)
Performance will be on Saturday, April 13th from 4-5 pm (kids will need to arrive in the sanctuary at 2:45 pm for one last sound check)
Please email me (Beth Sanders) at firstname.lastname@example.org or text me at 614-580-0333 if your 1st – 6th grader would like to participate. Please tell me if they would like a narration part too or if they would just prefer to sing with the kids’ choir.
We are excited to share the story of Jesus’ sacrifice for us and his resurrection with the church and community!
Please let your family members know – mark those calendars early! You are welcome to use the graphic in this email and post it on your Facebook page to spread the news to the entire community!
Thank you! -- Beth Sanders and Lisa Hughes
